We began our visit at the tea house with a cup of coffee and an ice cream, surrounded by peacocks and chickens...
We then explored this intriguing castle built in 1625 as a defensive fortress, in the midst of the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland.
During our visit, we were invited to listen to the angry ghosts walking down the corridors, we enjoyed the artifacts from all around the world, and we were entertained by the questions asked to our "oh, very patient" tour guide...
But the most intriguing part of the tour, took place deep down in the basement, in the former family dungeon.
Who could have imagined that such a morbid place would become a Temple hosting a new religion in adoration of Isis, the Egyptian Goddess of healing and magic?
Our journey to the past ended in the English gardens with magnificent apple trees, charming garden statues, picturesque waterfalls, and generous vines, filled with sweet grapes for everyone's delight.
