Our Coffee Story
From Popcorn Makers to Perfect Brews
It all Started in the US
Once upon a time, Paul and Cathy lived in the United States, where coffee wasn’t just a drink but a lifestyle. We loved spending hours in coffee shops, sipping, chatting, and dreaming.
But there was one tiny problem—most of the coffee we encountered came in the form of dark, smoky French or Italian roasts. While undeniably bold, we preferred the lighter, brighter side of coffee life.

So, one day, fueled by caffeine and curiosity, we decided to roast our own coffee. Armed with a small bag of green beans and a trusty popcorn maker (thanks, YouTube!), we were ready to revolutionize our mornings.
However, our first attempt ended in a smoky, charred disaster—our beans went from green to, well... edible ashes.

Still, a seed was planted (pun intended). Paul soon invested in a small Kaldi roaster, and our kitchen transformed into a mini coffee lab. After countless experiments and tweaks—some more successful than others—we finally nailed it. Our home-roasted coffee became a family favorite, the kind of brew that makes you linger over breakfast a little longer.

Moving to Ireland
In 2021, life took a caffeinated twist. We moved to Paul’s hometown in Ireland, but unfortunately our beloved roaster was stuck on a container ship, somewhere on the Atlantic.
For eight long, coffee-deprived months, we survived on store-bought beans (oh, the humanity!) until the container finally arrived.
Back in action, Paul set up a roasting station in the shed, and all was right with the world again. Meanwhile, Cathy opened a Bed and Breakfast and began serving our coffee to guests. To say it was a hit would be an understatement. Americans, French, Italians—they all swooned over the fresh aroma and smooth taste.
Some even demanded a behind-the-scenes look at the roasting process. But let’s just say our shed—doubling as a carpentry and gardening hub—wasn’t exactly "tour-friendly." So, we upgraded to a new roaster, a dedicated roasting area with fantastic cabinetry by our son, Mathew.

And they Roasted Happily Ever After...
Today, we proudly roast ethically sourced beans from Africa, Central, and South America, crafting fresh, medium-roasted coffee that’s as smooth as it is delicious. From our local supermarket to our online shop, our coffee now reaches enthusiasts worldwide—and every batch carries the love and laughter that started it all.
Cheers to Better Mornings!
