Our Story
It all started when Berna Redmond and Andy Mahon fell in love, got married and moved into a small cottage on Church Road, on the edge of the town.
​
Berna and Andy's little nest was perfect for them, for it was located a few steps away from the village and it was big enough to welcome a family.
Two boys came along and brought more joy and love to the happy couple.
Throughout the years, the Mahon residence became a meeting point for tea and biscuits, a place of laughter for family and friends, and a loving home recognized by all as "Berna's little Cottage."
Life in the United States
In 1986, Paul moved to the United States where he met me, a French woman from Marseille (France).

Even thought I was a true city girl, I always loved spending time in Bunclody and I would always imagine moving back to Europe and building my own business.

And then, in the mist of the COVID-19 pandemic, Paul and I finally decided that it was time to move back to our roots.
After lots of planning, building, Covid(ing), and organizing, "Mon Petit Cottage" and "Berna's Cottage" are now ready to welcome guests from all around the world. We hope you will love our Cottage and our brand new Bed and Breakfast; as we want to make you feel right at home!
